MESSAGE FROM FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR

Sabaidee! Welcome to Panyathip International School It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our Panyathip International School in Vientiane. Let me introduce myself – I am the Founder and Director of the school and first opened Panyathip International School in 2001. Over the past 15 years, we have grown into a Early Years, Primary and Secondary International School, with four campuses in Vientiane. Panyathip was the first International School to be accredited by the Cambridge Curriculum and we are now a Cambridge Examination Centre where we offer the International General Certificate of Education examinations. We were the first school in Laos that offers the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). For our Lao students, we also offer the Lao curriculum and examinations. I am therefore pleased that at Panyathip we can offer the breadth in the curriculum to meet the needs of the diverse International and Lao community. I would like to thank you for considering our school for your child(ren) and wish you a pleasant visit of our school.

ZAYNE ESSOP

HEAD OF SECONDARY SCHOOL

Welcome to the Panyathip International Secondary School, and thank you for showing interest in our school. I am very proud to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school. At Panyathip International School we are committed to providing every student attending our school with a high-quality education and opportunities for them to ‘Become the Best that they can be”. We command the highest expectations of both our students and our staff and expect our students to work hard in order to fulfil and exceed their academic potential, therefore providing opportunities for them to pursue their talents and passions. We do this by offering a broad, knowledge-rich curriculum and a caring, supportive learning environment. We expect all of our staff to lead by example and it is our mission is to help develop and empower individuals through a positive learning environment and equip them with experiences, knowledge, and skills that will enable them to be successful and resilient in whatever they choose to do in life. Whatever our students aspire to be, we are here to support them. We value each of them, not just for who they are but also for what they can become. Ambitious for them, we challenge them to aim for careers of significance, influence and service, gaining the results needed to work at the best colleges, universities and companies. But we also want them to live lives that are personally enriched and fulfilled and that is why we also seek to develop in them a love of the arts, culture, sport, public service, charity and community involvement. We are proud to be a diverse and international community following a British-style curriculum and learning experience and celebrate all our cultures, whilst working toward internationally accepted and accredited UK-standard qualifications. We are also proud to be members of COBIS (Council of British International Schools), FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) and accredited by Cambridge Assessment for curriculum and examinations, because they confirm our standards meet the excellence that these organisations represent and demand and provide our students, their families and our staff with opportunities beyond the school campus. We know that great learning does not happen through academics alone. Our school caters for the whole development of all students. Through our co-curricular programmes, students are afforded opportunities for leadership and participation in experiences that develop aspiration, resilience and the understanding of others. Success can come in different areas and we celebrate all these achievements and accomplishments as a community. We work on achieving great academic and co-curriculum outcomes for our students, so that they not only get to the interview for the next step in their learning or their dream job, but they also have the character and skills to secure those opportunities and thrive in them and life Most importantly, we work hard to ensure that our students feel safe and are happy. We set a high bar for safety and the welfare of our students. By following the highest international standards for child protection and for the prevention of serious harm and abuse to young people, we are meticulous in all we do to ensure that the necessary steps and actions are taken to protect students and nurture their development in school and outside. I very much look forward to welcoming you to our school.

SCHOOL HISTORY

In 2001, Pathana Panyathip and Damien Lim decided to build a school for Lao nationals. Our founders wanted the students to experience an education with international standards, upholding the Lao values and cultures. In its first year, the school offered Kindergarten to Grade 3 with a total of 38 students and 12 teachers.

From these humble beginnings, the school has undergone a remarkable transformation. Since the number of students (including foreign students) has grown rapidly, the school has moved twice from the first campus in Naxay Village, Saysettha District to the present site in Sapanthong Neua, Sisattanak District. Also, to accommodate the demands for our Kindergarten School, a separate campus in Sapanthong Tai, Sisattanak District was also built.

In 2015 Panyathip opened another new purpose built campus in Savannakhet in order to assist the development of the province by providing high quality British international education for locals and expats. Since opening the school has grown and in 2018/2019 will go up to Year 10.

In 2017 a second Kindergarten was opened in Nonsavanh village and in 2018 will begin its primary classes.

In 2018 a purpose built Primary School close to the Kindergarten was opened making the school unique in Laos by providing purpose-built facilities for all three major phases of learning.
